In the heart of historic Wilmington, NC, seated proudly above
terraced gardens, the 1841 ante-bellum de Rosset House welcomes
guests to six luxury suites. This grand old mansion provides
an intimate retreat for those travelling on either business
or pleasure. Combining old world charm with modern day comfort,
each suite is individually appointed with heart-of-pine floors,
period furniture, large whirlpool tubs, separate showers,
gas log fireplaces, cable TVs and VCRs. All suites also have
telephones with data ports, coffee makers, refrigerators,
microwaves and irons with boards. Two of the suites are full
apartment suites with kitchens and washer/dryers.

The
Cupola Suite - Our "signature suite", and the most unique,
designed with that special occasion in mind. Climb the spiral
staircase to the sitting room in the cupola of the house. Enjoy
a 360 degrees view over the rooftops of the city. Relax with
a drink and be enchanted by the romantic sunset over the Cape
Fear River. After a gourmet dinner at the City Club at de Rosset,
retire to your king size four poster, with the bedsroom lit
with the warm glow of a log fire......
The
Lillian Russell Suite - A lovely spacious suite with
high ceilings and pocket doors. Rich burgundy tones, plush carpets,
detailed wall stenciling and a gas log fire in both rooms give
this suite a feeling of the opulence of times gone by. At the
front of the house, this suite enjoys views over the gardens
and the Cape Fear River......
The
George Bernard Shaw Suite - The tall ceilings and windows
give a fine light to the burgundy and green tones of this full
apartment suite. With a complete and separate kitchen, washer/dryer
and king size four poster bed, this suite meets all the needs
of the discerning traveler.
The
Eugene O'Neill Suite - A spacious full apartment suite,
decorated in light tones of soft green and rose, this suite
features a king size sleigh bed and a view of the St. Thomas
Preservation Hall, another unique and historic building of the
same era ........
The
Oscar Wilde Suite - Rich burgundy and deep blue give
an old world charm to this corner suite, with fireplaces in
both rooms. A queen size canopy bed is featured. Opening shutters
by the Jacuzzi allow a view of the living room fire and TV to
add to the romantic ambiance .........
The
Henry Miller Suite - A warm and inviting suite with
a pronounced southern feel. Magnolias float through the drapery
fabrics, with pale yellow, beige and sage tones, with a king
size four poster bed featured. Shutters over the whirlpool allow
a view of the fire and TV from the tub, to create an unforgettable
scene ......
Guests
at the de Rosset House can enjoy the City Club at de Rosset's
restaurant and bar, stroll through the terraced historic gardens,
or relax, perhaps with a mint julep, in a rocker on the porch.
Private dining rooms are also available.
